Circlens is a Telegram Mini App for recording or importing short videos with visual effects. This page explains what data is used to make the app work.

Operator

Children

Circlens is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used Circlens and left data with us, contact Telegram support below and we will delete it.

Camera and microphone

The app asks your browser or Telegram for camera and microphone access so you can record a video. Live preview effects are applied on your device while you record.

Video processing

After you finish recording or choose an imported file, the video is uploaded to our server to convert it into a Telegram-friendly circular MP4 format. Generated files and uploads are temporary and are normally removed automatically within 6 hours.

Analytics

We collect limited technical analytics to understand whether videos are rendered successfully, which effects are used and how people find Circlens. In the Mini App these events can include the selected effect names, render duration, the platform and Telegram app version, the browser user agent (which names the browser, the operating system and often the device model), the interface language, the Telegram start parameter, your optional answer to "How did you find Circlens?", and a hashed Telegram user identifier when Telegram provides verified Mini App data.

On circlens.app we count anonymous page views and clicks on links to the bot: the page, its language, the source tag in the link and the domain of the site that referred you. The site sets no cookies and uses no identifier that outlasts a single page view.

Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested address, referring page and user agent) for security and troubleshooting. They are not used for analytics and are deleted after 14 days.

We do not store your raw Telegram user ID in analytics. It is converted into a one-way hash on the server.

Telegram data

When you open the Mini App inside Telegram, Telegram may provide signed Mini App data such as your user ID, language code, and start parameter. We validate this data on the server before using it for delivery or analytics.

Sharing

If you choose to send or share a rendered video, Telegram or your browser handles that action according to their own terms and privacy policies.

Payments

If you support the project with Telegram Stars, Telegram processes the payment. We may store technical payment events such as the donation tier, currency, amount, Telegram payment charge identifier, a one-way user hash, and encrypted Telegram user/chat references for accounting, support, donation thank-you delivery, refund handling, and fraud prevention.

Raw Telegram identifiers are not shown in analytics or the admin interface. Encrypted payment references are only used when payment support requires a refund or donation thank-you review.

Bot messages

Circlens can send you a message in the bot chat about new packs and effects, or a reminder that a saved style is waiting for you. These messages are opt-in: the bot asks once, after your first finished circle, and sends nothing unless you agree. We send at most one such message per week.

To make this possible we store an encrypted reference to your Telegram chat, a one-way user hash, your interface language, and the dates of your last render and last message from us. We do not store your raw Telegram identifier for this purpose.

You can turn these messages off at any time by sending /stop to the bot. Blocking the bot has the same effect. Payment, refund and support replies are not marketing messages and are always delivered.

Invites

If you share your invite link and someone opens Circlens with it and makes their first circle, both accounts receive a period of Circlens Pro. To do this we store a one-way hash of the inviting and the invited account, the date the invite was used, and whether the reward was granted. Invite links contain a random code, not your Telegram identifier, and we do not tell either side who the other person is beyond what Telegram already shows.

Custom packs

If you build a pack in Circlens Maker, we store the pack settings, any sticker image you upload, and a one-way hash of your account as the owner. If you mark a pack as public, its title and styles become visible to other users in the gallery; the owner hash is never shared. You can unmark or delete a pack at any time.

Retention

Contact

You can delete your Circlens data yourself at any time: send /forgetme to the bot and confirm. That removes your entitlements, invites, bot preferences, activity, analytics identity, and encrypted chat reference. Financial rows keep only the Telegram charge ID and encrypted payer reference required for refunds and accounting. The payer reference is deleted when its retention period ends.

Use @CirclensBot for purchase and refund support. Include the payment time, Stars amount, and Telegram receipt.

Support requests sent through the bot may include your message, Telegram username, a one-way user hash, and an encrypted chat reference so the request can be diagnosed and answered.

Support conversations

When you enter support mode, messages and attachments you explicitly send to the bot are copied to a private support group. Your camera recordings are not attached automatically. Support-routing identifiers are encrypted and retained for up to 30 days of active service; /forgetme deletes these identifiers. Message content stays in Telegram, including the private support group, and is not removed from Telegram by /forgetme. Ask support to delete a conversation. Encrypted service backups expire after 30 days.
